Only rock 'n' Tyrol, but we like it, say Kasabian fans This is Leicestershire --

Rockers Kasabian played for hundreds of fans high up in the mountains.

Appearing at the Snowbombing Festival in Austria, the Leicestershire band performed an acoustic set at dusk in an igloo village in Mayrhofen on Thursday.

The intimate set, at an altitude of 6,500ft, was enjoyed by about 450 people.

The band were back on the main stage last night for an even bigger show.

Snowbombing is Europe's largest snow and music festival, with revellers spending their days skiing and snowboarding and their evenings enjoying music.

Other acts performing at the festival this year include Example, Katy B and Rudimental.

Festival spokeswoman Chloe Munts said: "Kasabian did an acoustic gig at the top of the mountain, 2,000 metres up, which was amazing. The scenery was really cool.

"The main stage is in the forest so that's really beautiful, too. It's been an amazing week for skiing and snowboarding after it snowed really heavily last week.

"I think Kasabian were hoping to have a go on the snow." Reported by This is 4 hours ago.
