
Thirty jobs at Leicestershire's six remaining Blockbuster stores have been saved after the DVD and video rental chain was taken over.
The company, which went into administration in January, has been sold to restructuring specialists Gordon Brothers Europe for an undisclosed sum. Under the deal, 264 stores have been saved.
The six county stores are in Abbey Lane, Leicester; Narborough Road, Leicester; Loughborough, Coalville, Melton and Market Harborough. Its Beaumont Leys store closed last month.
Jewellery chain H Samuel has closed its store in Belvoir shopping centre, Coalville. A spokeswoman was unable to say how many staff it had employed. She said: "We do have alternative stores in Loughborough and Beaumont Leys." Reported by This is 1 hour ago.
