What's on in Plymouth this weekend: March 22, 23, 24 This is Plymouth -- As always, there are plenty of things to do in and around Plymouth this weekend. Thisisplymouth.co.uk gives you a choice selection of events you can enjoy including nights out with friends and days spent with the family. *Arts, Culture and food* *The Boys are Back in Town* A season of dance performances from a vibrant collection of male choreographers, including an electrifying package of workshops/education packages and cmmissions. The season kicks off with Theo Clinkard at the Barbican Theatre on the 8 February and includes Attik's community platform at the Goschen Centre, Jonathon Burrows at the Roland Levinsky Theatre, Company Chameleon and Rationale at Barbican Theatre. Bringing the season to an end, Hofesh Shechter Company will be at the Theatre Royal on 26/27 March. Directed by Alastair Whatley and starring Sarah Jayne Dunn and Jonathan Smith. Times:See venue's website for times Venue: Theatre Royal, Royal Parade South *Page2Stage presents Peter Pan - A Musical Adventure* Page2stage Young person's Theatre Group have already performed at some local events such as Got Talent and Saltash Xmas Lights and are now very busy working on their debut Performance of Josef Weinberger's Peter Pan, the Musical. The cast of more than 40 enthusiastic young people aged between 7 and 18 promises a musical adventure for the whole family. Times: Mar 23, 2.30pm and 7.30pm Venue: Saltash.net, Wearde, Saltash *Forever House* Drum Theatre Plymouth Productions presents the stories of three different couples who are cautiously looking to the future. Times:See venue's website for times Venue: Theatre Royal, Royal Parade South *Kieron Lyons : Interference Patterns 1968 - 2013* Kieran Lyons exploration of drawing spans for more than thirty years. His detailed drawings map the line of travel and the "impulse that attracts a drawn line away from its original direction of travel". The exhibition aims to represent the artist's varied and diverse practice, as he uses sculpture, installation, animation and digital projection as a tool to explore the notion of drawing. Currently the artist is influenced by the artist, Marcel Duchamps first experiments with chance, and with this has created new work especially for this exhibition. Times: See venue's website for times Venue: Peninsula Arts Centre, Plymouth University Drake Circus *Ceramics by Tim Andrews Exhibition* Tim Andrews has gained an International reputation for his distinctive smoke-fired and raku ceramics. Many works are black and white with linear decoration or burnished with muted coloured slips. His pieces have been acquired for both public and private collections and are exhibited widely across the UK and abroad. Tim has been working as a potter for more than 35 years starting as an apprentice to David Leach in the late 1970s. His latest work was inspired by a visit to China, where he visited old Sung Dynasty kiln sites. He has since mastered some very difficult techniques and challenges to combine raku, porcelain and black stoneware. The outcome is some truly stunning work. Times: See venue's website for times Venue: 45 Southside Gallery, Barbican *Evva Mizerska And Emma Abbate* The cellist and pianist perform Beethoven's Seven Variations on Mozart's Bei Mannern and Welche Liebe Fuhlen from Die Zauberflote, Janacek's Pohadka, Debussy's Cello Sonata, Barber's Cello Sonata, Ashton's Fantasiestucke and Chopin's Introduction And Polonaise Brillante. Times: Mar 22, phone for times Venue: View 2, Vauxhall Quay *James Robinson* Hailing from coastal Devon, Brighton-based singer-songwriter James Robinson has been favorably compared to vocalists such as Coldplay's Chris Martin and Jamie Cullum. The son of a writer and a music journalist, James established himself as the charismatic front man of alt-pop band Two Spot Gobi. TSG gave James his first platform to write and perform with other musicians and when spotted by singer Jason Mraz, James and the band were invited to support him on tours in the UK, Europe and the US. Times:Mar 23, 8pm Venue: The Two Trees *Stereophonics at Plymouth Pavilions* Stereophonics are to play 10 intimate March UK shows and Plymouth Pavilions is one of the lucky chosen few! The band will be taking their outstanding new album 'Graffiti on the Train' for a spin, road testing it in Plymouth, before announcing a major arena tour for later this year. 'Indian Summer' – Stereophonics' classic new single – available to download from iTunes now, along with the Kelly Jones directed video. At present we have Plymouth,Torbay ,Exeter & Bristol playing in the league. Home games and training will be on Sundays at our purpose built diamond in central park ( below the golf pitch & putt) SPRING TRAINING OFFICIALLY STARTS ON SUNDAY 17th MARCH and everyone is welcome to come along and try-out, no experience is necessary as all players will be trained to the highest level by fully qualified coaches, who are all CRB checked.
