This is Plymouth --

MARINE archaeologists and divers will descend upon the city for a shipwreck conference today.

The International Marine Archaeology Shipwreck Society is holding its annual conference in the Robbins Building at Plymouth University.

Neville Oldham, one of the organisers, said it was still the same nine people involved who organised the society's first ever conference 32 years ago.

The 78-year-old said the event had gone from attracting just 25 people to becoming one of the most successful of such conferences in Europe, with the 250-seater venue fully booked. The event will begin at 9am and finish at 6pm. Reported by This is 16 hours ago.
