![Crystal Palace have the biggest squad in Europe, says study]()
This is Croydon -- CRYSTAL Palace have got the biggest squad in Europe, according to a study carried out by The CIES Football Observatory . The study, which spans across the continent's 31 divisions, say the Eagles have 34 players on their roster who have been part of the past two seasons. Palace brought in 16 new players in the summer following promotion to the Premier League, but they struggled to gel under former boss Ian Holloway. And Holloway, who is now manager at south London rivals Millwall, even said during his final press conference that the club "changed too much too quickly". The study says: "This reflects poor strategic planning as many established professionals do not even have the right to participate in league games. "This may prove detrimental for team spirit over the long term. The CIES is the International Centre for Sports Studies, which is a not-for-profit independent research centre based in Switzerland as a joint venture between Fifa and the University of Neuchatel set up eight years ago. The study also shows that assembling a large squad is typical with Premier League clubs, and Palace are certainly no different.
