• Asia crumble after leading 7-3 in Guangzhou province
• José María Olazábal works his magic again

José María Olazábal led Europe to the Royal Trophy on a dramatic final day. The Spaniard's side started day three 5-3 down to YE Yang's Asia side at the Dragon club in Guangzhou and when the hosts stretched their lead to 7-3 it looked ominous. A stunning turnaround ensued, though, and the Europeans won 8½–7½ as Asia crumbledunder the pressure. Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts was the man to sink the winning putt, prompting scenes of jubilation on the green on the 17th green. David Howell, who won his match against HS Kim with a brilliant last hole up-and-down from a bunker, said: "There's no doubt we were in big trouble at 7-3 down. My opponent was five-under through 14 before he finally hit his first poor shot and I was able to make a couple of birdies. I was determined to take it to the last because I looked at the scoreboards and I could see that even if I could get a half point, it may prove vital." Reported by guardian.co.uk 2 hours ago.
