Civic begins exciting new chapter
This is Hull and East Riding --

Honda's new class-leading, tax-busting 1.6 i-DTEC Civic has been eagerly awaited.

Offering a class-leading combination of fuel economy and performance – emitting only 94 g/km of CO2 with a powerful 120PS (so no road tax) – the model offers an outstanding 78.5 mpg on the combined cycle.

A "no compromise" car, the Civic begins an exciting new chapter in the history of Honda diesels and is already proving a fleet favourite.

And this from a company that heralded its entry into the diesel market by claiming to hate diesels!

The brand's hotly anticipated 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine is the first to be launched in Europe under Honda's flagship Earth Dreams Technology environmental programme and offers customers an outstanding balance of high fuel economy, low emissions and exciting performance.

The new engine will also make its way into the new CR-V SUV later in 2013.

The new variant is available in three generously equipped trim levels – the SE, ES and top-of-the-range EX models.

The specification for this trio of new variants is identical to the equivalent 2.2-litre i-DTEC cars, but with the addition of new 16in alloy wheels. The 1.6 i-DTEC EX has also been enhanced with several desirable convenience features, including front and rear parking sensors, an auto- dimming rear-view mirror and DAB digital radio.

The combination of performance and fuel efficiency betters anything on offer from any rival and could lead to Civic sales being trebled in the UK this year, led by a huge surge in fleet business.

Three out of every four customers for the new Civic diesel are expected to be company car drivers.

A Honda UK spokesman said: "This is the most important new engine from Honda in a decade. In time, 25 per cent of all the new cars we sell will be powered by this engine."

Honda plans to replace every engine in its range with new units under the Earth Dreams Technology banner within three years and is targeting fuel efficiency leadership across the board.

There will be further versions of the 1.6-litre diesel with lower and higher power outputs, five new petrol engines and a small-capacity petrol turbo.

Inside the cabin it is just as exciting, with dual-zone air conditioning, leather steering wheel and gear knob, cruise control with speed limiter and ambient interior lighting all provided as standard, along with six-speaker audio system, USB connectivity and Bluetooth hands-free telephone.

The new Honda Civic 1.6 Diesel is available to buy from Marshall Honda now. To find out more, call 01482 628500 or visit www.hull-honda. co.uk Reported by This is 10 hours ago.
