This is Somerset --College students will be celebrating the different languages in Europe in lessons this week.
European Day of Languages is taking place today, with people across the continent encouraged to learn more languages in and out of school.
It is an initiative from Strasbourg and the day has been celebrated every year since 2001.
Head of Norton Radstock College's health and allied professions department Jim Hall said students would be using the day to learn more about Europe and its languages.
Mr Hall said: "This is a great opportunity to celebrate many of the different languages and cultures that so enrich Britain, and indeed the South West.
"There are 225 indigenous languages in Europe which equals around three per cent of the world's total.
"The 21st century has brought with it the opportunity to work around the globe but to do so people need to be aware of and embrace the different languages and cultures as we all come across foreign languages in our daily lives."
The college has many students from other countries and also teaches a broad spectrum of different languages and this will also highlight the work they do.
Polish student Oliwia Mozdzen has been helping her classmates learn more about her home country and its language.
The day will see lecturers welcoming students to lessons using a different language for hello, as well as games during lessons with students identifying countries and languages used.
There will also be a challenge to see which student can say hello in the most languages and the opportunity to try food from different parts of Europe.
Staff and students will also be invited to take part in discussions about Britain being part of Europe and the diversity of languages spoken across the continent. Reported by This is 5 hours ago.
