This is Bristol --YOUNG artists won Gromit goodies after coming up with their own designs for the popular pooch.
Their entries were chosen from 1,000 submitted into the Colour a Gromit competition run by The Galleries shopping centre and the Bristol Post, including submissions from youngsters as far afield as Poland and Holland.
The competition was judged by Huncan Daskell, the artist behind the shopping centre's dinosaur-themed Gromitasaurus sculpture on the Gromit Unleashed trail.
The final winners were Sam Sturt, ten, of Thornbury, Grace Doyle, seven, of Whitehall, Joie Archer Haggerty, five, of Clevedon and Libby Vicary, eight, of Taunton.
Mr Daskell said: "I assessed the entries based on the originality of the design, the thought process behind it and the artistic qualities.
"I was astounded by the effort some of the entrants had put into their designs and it was extremely difficult to select the winners as there were so many fabulous entries to choose from, but we got there in the end."
Colin Lang, centre manager at The Galleries, said: "Having our own Gromit in the centre over the summer months certainly proved a huge hit with thousands of visitors calling in to see him as part of the trail. It seemed fitting therefore to round Gromit mania off with this fun colouring competition which, with so many children taking part and from so many places in both Europe and the UK, proves just how popular this loveable mutt is."
