• The 2011 Open champion to play US in 2014
• Clarke, 44, uses exemption to take up place
Darren Clarke will use the exemption gained from his victory at the 2011 Open to rejoin the US PGA Tour next year.
Clarke, who is exempt until 2016, said in a statement: "I will be taking up my US PGA Tour card next season but that does not mean I am abandoning Europe. I will be supporting my home Tour as usual.
"I still feel I can be competitive at the highest level. I have always enjoyed America and the US Tour in the past and I am looking forward to playing there more often again."
Clarke, 44, has struggled to reproduce the form which brought him a first major title at the age of 42, finishing 108th in the Race to Dubai in 2012 and lying 127th in the standings. Reported by guardian.co.uk 14 hours ago.
