Jon McBride was one of only 73 McDonald's Restaurant Managers in Europe to receive the honour, which includes a cash prize and a trophy. This was the first time that the Ray Kroc Awards, which were named after McDonald's corporate founder, have been launched in Europe. Mr McBride, who has worked for the company for 15 years, will receive his prize on June 26 in Barcelona from Doug Goare, president of McDonald's Europe. Mr McBride said: "I was lucky enough to receive Business Manager of the Year Award last year, so when I found out I'd also received the Ray Kroc Award, it was a huge surprise. "I had no idea that I'd been nominated, so when it was announced that I'd won, I was completely overwhelmed - it's such an honour to receive this amount of recognition from the company."
